The U.S. Department of Agriculture recently launched its Clean Energy Investment Map, a website identifying green energy projects around the country. It was met with praise from the Ag Energy Coalition.
The AEC commended the USDA for providing Americans with transparent data that allows them to view the impact that clean energy investments are making across the country.
"The USDA's energy portal demonstrates the positive impact the Farm Bill energy title and related programs are having on the economy, national security, and the environment," said Lloyd Ritter, co-director of the Ag Energy Coalition. "It also clearly shows the tremendous potential of these programs to create quality jobs throughout rural America. Every state has benefited from USDA renewable energy and energy efficiency projects."
The AEC is a combination of green energy organizations and companies that represent the interests of clean, renewable energy and bioproducts stakeholders. Its members are interested in energy crop production, conversion technologies, rural economic development and advanced biofuel.
Other groups are also looking to harness the power of information to promote green energy adoption. Organizations and companies have combined to form the Green Button, which will provide more than 10 million customers with their personal energy data and allow them to view the information via Facebook and other platforms.
